Calling all Junior Entomologists! We have ourselves a sticky insect emergency. The Spotted Lanternfly is an invasive species which is currently spreading across North America. Although they do not pose any risk to humans or pets, they do attack local native and agricultural plants like grapes, apples, stone fruits, walnut and willow.

This creative design challenge is fun printable worksheet set to encourage young children and students to find out more about the threats of invasive species, particularly insects, to local ecology and industries.

Age: 6 to 9 year olds, Activity Time: 6-8 hours, Items Needed: Colouring and writing pencils.

In this activity, your child will learn about Spotted Lanternflies, stages of its life cycle and their continued threat to the local ecology and industries.

It will help your child or student:

  • Learn about the life cycle of the Spotted Lanternfly and how to spot them in the wild during their different stages.
