Yayoi Kusama is a Japanese contemporary pop artist who is sometimes known as the "princess of polka dots" due to her signature dotted patterns across her artwork. Aside from dots, she was also captivated by pumpkins as a child. The artist was recorded saying that she loved pumpkins because of their "humorous form, warm feeling, and a human-like quality and form".
