What are your daily meals like? Do you fancy Chinese take-outs? How often do you swing by your neighbourhood Indian curry spot? Or do you take the kids for lunch at the sushi train restaurant once a month? Or do they prefer homecooked meals made with mom's love? Whatever your family meals look like, I'm sure they're tasty and flavourful.

This printable worksheet set is about helping kids understand more about the different taste profiles of their meals and what their taste preferences.

Printable & Activity Objectives

Age: 6 to 9 year olds, Activity Time: On-going, Items Needed: Writing pencils

In this activity, your child will learn more about how we taste and the different taste qualities we can sense. They will also learn to understand their own taste preferences by journalling the different tastes they experience over a month.

It will help children/students:

  • Develop better understanding of the taste profiles of the meals they regularly consume and also evaluate what their taste preferences are.
  • Nurture curiosity for meals and cuisines outside of their comfort zone. Perhaps they could compare their taste journal with friends from other cultures.
