Classroom Resources

Simple steps to start:

  • Research and find out more about the teaching profession and the different skills one needs to do a good job. Here's a fun lesson plan:
  1. Roles and Responsibilities Brainstorming: Begin the lesson by asking students what they think their teachers do in the classroom. Write down their responses on the whiteboard or flipchart. Engage the students briefly about the various tasks and responsibilities they believe teachers have. Encourage them to share their personal experiences or observations.
  2. Role-Playing: Divide the class into small groups and assign each group a specific role or responsibility of an elementary teacher (e.g., creating lesson plans, conducting parent-teacher conferences, preparing classroom materials, etc.). Instruct each group to create a short skit or role-play demonstrating their assigned task. They can use props or act out scenarios to showcase what teachers do in those situations.
  3. Reflection and Conclusion: Distribute index cards or small strips of paper to each student. Ask them to reflect on what they have learned and write down one thing they appreciate or admire about their elementary teachers. Collect the cards and read a few responses aloud, fostering a sense of gratitude and admiration for teachers. Conclude the lesson by emphasizing the importance of teachers in their education and personal growth. Encourage students to express appreciation for their teachers.
