Welcome to the exciting and dramatic world of Mexican freestyle wrestling or better known as "Lucha Libre", a highly popular cultural phenomenon which dates back to the mid to late 1800s. It is the second biggest spectator sport in Mexico after soccer. Luchadores (wrestlers) wear colourful masks as part of their stage identity and can often be seen in public with their trademark masks on.
This creative design challenge is a fun printable activity to explore the Mexican sport of Lucha Libre and also the culturally iconic masks or "máscaras".
Printable & Activity Objectives
Age: 6 to 9 year olds, Activity Time: 1-2 hours, Items Needed: Colouring pencils
In this activity, your child have an opportunity to design some Mexican wrestling masks and also learn about the highly popular spectator sport "Lucha Libre"
It will help your child or student:
Learn about new cultures and interests outside of those they are familiar with.
Improve his/her artistic and creative skills by designing, colouring and adding different ideas to their Mexican wrestling masks.
