It is said the kite was invented in Asia. The exact date of its invention is not known but written historical accounts of the first kites being flown dates back more than two thousand years back in China. Since then, the various Asian civilisations and cultures in the surrounding region have adapted the invention, beautifying them and made it their own.
This creative design challenge is a fun activity to explore the art and beauty of the Asian kite specifically, the Malaysian Wau Bulan, the Balinese Bebean and the Thai Chula. Let's check them out!
